At the TLC, our programs can bring exciting opportunities to your group:
- Programs specifically designed for youth or adults
- Church Leadership
- Group preperation for missions trips
- FUN!!!!
- Seeing the scripture come to life
- Dynamic and poignant activities that are also incredibly relevant to our faith
- Exploring attitudes and conflicts that inhibit groups from being "salt and light"
- Bringing a sense of adventure to the youth group
At the TLC, we firmly believe that investing in the next generation is the heart of our God, who chooses to reveal Himself as “Abba, Daddy;” He absolutely loves children! The youth are tomorrow’s leaders and our future. We want them to go a thousand times farther in the Lord than we can even begin to imagine. Part of their success in their ability to cultivate a deep intimacy with the Lord rests on our shoulders to train them in the ways that they should go, so that when they are older, they will keep going that way. Therefore, the time, energy, and commitment that we choose to sow into them today will be reflected in how their lives bear fruit in the future.
What lessons do you think are worthwhile investments in our future Kingdom princes and princesses who have been chosen to rule with us?
Jesus often taught using simple language and concepts such as fishing, farming, kings, servants, and vineyards. However, He also used each of these things as metaphors and parallels for transforming, Kingdom principles. Jesus used parables to teach radical, paradigm changing ideas into bite sized-nuggets that have been easily understood and easily applied by a mass audience. The activities that we employ at the TLC uses the same method that Jesus used in teaching parables that served as metaphors for much greater concepts and ideas that reveal both ours and God’s hearts.
Our chief heart at the TLC is to partner with you to help your group learn how to build authentic, loving relationships that are based on grace and truth. We believe that God’s word is powerful and supremely relevant to our lives today. We also believe that Christianity is much more than a religion, but that the heart of Christ is connecting us with a loving and just God. By receiving God’s love, then we will be enabled to love Him and others, the two same things that Jesus said were the summation of the law and the prophets. All of our workshops can be implemented in helping to teach the importance of fellowship, obedience, evangelism, discipleship, grace, and faith. We do this through lessons such as:
What does it mean to function as a body?
How can you love when you don’t know how to trust? By learning to actively engage in trusting others, participants will be able to discover the joy of learning from relationships, which is one of the most important ways that God chooses to teach us about Himself. Exploring this kind of potential also helps newly formed group work out the kinks.
Self awareness and others focused
Practicing how to listen to the ideas of others and how to give and receive both positive and constructive feedback. Acknowledging the value and worth of others within a team setting. Setting socially acceptable boundaries.
Developing character
Trust, love, respect, and integrity all go into experiencing real, authentic fellowship with one another. Experiencing the impact of caring for the needs of others. Forming trustworthiness as a way of valuing oneself. Giving one’s word and being committed by the group process to stick to it. Helping others to overcome frustration by building relationship skills.
Interacting with one another
Problem solving. Effectively communicating ideas. Not giving up at the fist hint of failure. Accurately assessing and reflecting on ideas of appropriate vs. inappropriate risk. Placing a group in a safe, cooperative environment where relationships can be built where everybody is on the same playing field, which encourages positive socialization. Practicing and exploring the benefits of conflict resolution. Practicing one another-ing, one of God’s favorite lessons!
At the TLC, we are well equipped to serve a large variety of faith-based groups: youth groups, private schools, home schools, group homes, scouts, and at risk youth. Virtually any kind of group can benefit from a TLC experience because we employ specifically designed, objective-based workshops where you decide which goals to work on!
Our challenge course facilitators are trained to help your group process problem-solving initiatives, allowing your group the opportunity to reach its maximum growth potential. We do not believe that we help people by giving them all of the answers. We simply ask the questions that help them to discover the answers for themselves, share truths from scripture, and use models and illustrations, based on our facilitated experiences, to help clarify the concepts and teachings which lead to a greater level of personal application. What greater way to invest in our youth than by empowering them to solve problems and then to apply those same new skills to real life!
All of our programming is highly intentional in developing the specific outcomes that you want to transfer into everyday life for your group. Our facility is not just another ropes course, it is designed to challenge you and your group spiritually, physically, cognitively, emotionally, and cohesively. Through using the type of facilitated, experiential learning activities that the TLC offers, you can help your group build skills that can affect them for the rest of their lives!
The question is how are you going to prepare them for the decisions that they will make when their time comes?
If you are interested in discovering more ways about how we can partner with your group to facilitate experiential, exponential growth, give us a call today!
Many of our facilities and challenge course activities are accessible to individuals with limited mobility.
