Corporate Team Development

Successful organizations (for-profit and not-for profit) have six key components in accord.

  • Culture – that nurtures its people in which people feel valued and trusted; people can grow and contribute to something greater than themselves

  • Vision – that is clear, exciting, inspiring and includes:

Core values and beliefs – guiding principles

Purpose – statement that tells why the organization exists

Clear mission – a short declaration of where the organization sees itself in one year, three years, and ten years

Strategic plan – clearly defined 3 to 5 initiatives that are essential to delivering a successful mission including financial goals, clearly defined service or product, client to be served, and employee development

  • Structure – that defines responsibility of team members to act upon key initiatives of the strategic plan

  • Execution – that walks-the-talk, delivering on the components of the vision

  • Leadership – that works on continuous skill development, lead as coach and lead as visionary

  • Innovation – that involves continuous improvement, enhancing the organization’s brand, overt benefit, reason to believe and unique difference

Customers, (clients, patients, students, guests) are the key to any organization’s success. Customer is anyone who relies on your work (Edward Deming). This includes internal and external customers. The right customers are scarce.

To attract the right customers and to be successful requires teamwork.

“If you could get all the people in an organization rowing in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market against any competition, at any time. Teamwork remains the one sustainable competitive advantage that has been largely untapped.” The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Patrick Lencioni
